With Exercise, Start Where You Are

The other day, I was at the gym and I saw one of those boot camp-style classes going on. I watched a group of people, many of them 50 pounds or more overweight, doing burpies. They did this, and other crazy things they weren’t conditioned for, because the trainer was telling them to.

And all I kept thinking was, “Go for a walk. Get outside. Put in 20 minutes this week. Maybe bump it up to 30 minutes next week. Then build on your progress!”

Recently, one of our Half Size Me™ Community members shared she was starting a boot camp-style class. She said she hated looking at herself in the mirror while working out. She was in pain and she just wants to get the weight off.

18 Free Workout Videos You Can Use At Home

Don’t have the money, or time, to go to the gym?

No problem!

To help you out, I’ve put together a list of 18 Free online workout videos where you can get a great work out without leaving your home.

Most of these workouts do not require any equipment other than your body. And the ones I use the most often have the (**) in front of them.

As I find more helpful, at-home workouts, I’ll update this post.

In this audio blog, I share with you the results of my experiment to increase my calories and reset my metabolism.

In case you don’t know about my experiment, after doing a metabolic reset from April until the end of July, I decided to take a deficit on my calories to lose fat.

For the month of August, I reduced my caloric intake by 15-20% of my total energy expenditure, which was based on data collected from my Body Media Armband*.

Here is week seven of our Wednesday Workout series. I’m giving you two different days worth of workouts. These are workouts you can do in about 30 minutes or less.

And don’t worry if you don’t have equipment like kettle bells or weights. I’ve provided “optional” exercises you can use.

There are also example videos linked to each exercise to help you see how they are performed correctly. If these exercises are new to you, or it’s been awhile since you’ve tried them, please watch the videos and practice before doing the workout.

You don’t need a lot of time to get a great work out. Remember to take your time, stay safe, and keep your body moving!
