HEATHER'S PROTEIN SMOOTHIE RECIPE
I make a protein smoothie almost every night as a treat. Here is the base recipe, which you can customize with different flavors and toppings:
2 cups frozen, unsweetened almond milk ice cubes (pour 2 cups of almond milk into an ice cube tray)
1 cup liquid, unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop whey protein powder (Quest or other brand. Vanilla is a great base flavor, but you can use any flavor you want)
1/4 tsp extract (vanilla, peppermint, almond, etc.)
3 to 4 Stevia packets, sweeten to taste (taste smoothie and make sure it is sweet enough for you – add more or less sweetener if you want)
Fun toppings of your choice (for example, crushed cookies, cereal, sugar-free caramel sauce, peanut butter, etc.)
