In this episode of Half Size Me, Heather interviews Kate who shares her story about losing weight and traveling the world.
In this episode you’ll hear Kate talk about
— what advice she’d go back and give herself in regards to her weight and body acceptance
— why she stopped worrying about what everyone thought about her
— how traveling to different countries helped her become more confident and lose the weight
— and much more!
“MOST OF MY LIFE I HAD BEEN WHAT KIND PEOPLE DESCRIBED AS ‘CURVY’.“
About Kate (From her About page): “I had struggled for around 4 years with my appearance and weight before I decided to do anything about it and I basically just let the feelings eat away at me (or more I ate away my feelings!). I became pretty depressed over it all and although I always put on a brave face, deep down I was very unhappy.
Sometimes, I do freak out and think that I’m not doing enough or worry about how I can keep it up, but this is all part of the learning process. I am not about to let old body hang ups interfere with my life now, so for the most part I am learning to forget those negative feelings that no longer apply.
At this point, I am now in my maintenance period, meaning I don’t want to lose any more weight and I want to keep at my current weight. If you have read my blog, you will see I am trying out a lot of new things and figuring out what will work for me long-term. This is just as important as the initial weight loss for me as I am determined not to gain any of it back!”
