However, he learned that if he was going to shed the physical weight, he also needed to rid himself of the emotional weight too.

About Joshua: On May 1st, 2009, Joshua Snow Hansen hit rock bottom. What was supposed to be one of the happiest days of his life as he graduated from college … he felt miserable, depressed and directionless. Weighing over 400lbs. with no vision moving towards the future he was extremely unhappy. Knowing he had to find his path towards happiness Joshua worked towards that goal.
Eventually, he found the courage to shed the weight that held him back for many years. Not just the pounds, but the emotional weight, the anxieties, the fears and worries that paralyzed him. In this process he’s found a passion for running. Starting with just one 5K, his journey has led him to over 52 half marathons, three marathons, and a couple of relays.
His goal is to run 180 races over 13.1 miles before he turns 40. Why, 180? Because in the process of his journey he has lost over 180lbs. while running has provided him the means to turn his life around 180 degrees. He couldn’t think of a better number.
