In response to how do you wrap your mind around needing to lose 300 pounds: In my opinion losing weight is like getting sober. Recovering alcoholics are taught not to think “I’m never going to drink again” they are taught to think in terms of “I won’t drink today” take it one day at a time. That is how i’m tackling my weight loss. I do have a goal weight in mind. I would like to weigh 143 pounds because it is the middle of the height to weight chart for my height. I currently weigh 265 pounds, I have lost 10 pounds so far. My starting date was May 22, 2012 and I would like to reach my goal by May 22, 2013.

Thanks Kayla! I agree with the idea of comparing weight loss to an alcohol addiction. I felt like for me when I was ready to admit I had a real problem and ask for help I was able to move forward and lose the weight. Thanks so much for your insight! Keep me posted on your weight loss journey! It sounds like you are well on your way! Congrats!
